I've done aliens before . . . but never inside of a spaceship . . . yep I knew that would blow your mind. This guy is trekking across the universe in search of an awesome burrito and he could be stopping by your house at any time.

P.S. No that's not Saturn behind him it's Nrutas . . . and it's sooooooo bad news to anyone who lands there.

31 Monsters in 31 Days: Day 14 Alien

Little green men from Mars was the fear of earthlings for many years but they are really from New Orleans. Aliens are fun because they can look like anything but I decided to go with the typical "Grey" style but with green skin and human clothes just for fun. NOLA is short for New Orleans Louisiana for those of you who are unfamiliar with the term.

This was a just quick drawing, I'm having a tough weekend and had to get this monster out for you as promised. I actually like him I just wish I had done something with his arms so he wasn't so stiff.

This drawing is done with Copic Markers and Sharpie Marker on approximately 8.5" x 11" Bristol Board.

2nd Annual 31 Monsters in 31 Days - October 2012

Hey there boys and girls,
This October I will be returning to the fun time I had last year with the 2nd Annual 31 Monsters in 31 Days. I will be drawing a monster a day and getting them posted here for your entertainment. The plan is one monster a day but if something happens and I miss a day I promise that the 31 will be done in the 31 days. I plan to revisit some of the monsters from last year as well as create all new monsters for this years event. I hope you all enjoy the monsters and follow along every day in October to see what goes bump in the night . . . or day . . . or those in between times.

Hey guys sorry this is late I went to Drink and Draw last night and it went way late. This was drawn on Thursday but couldn't be posted until now. I'm going to come back later and add some info on the character but wanted to get the drawing out ASAP.

31 Monsters in 31 Days: Day 13 - Aliens

Aliens . . . there are a lot of different options to go with when someone mentions aliens being that there are thousands of books and movies about these guys. One of the most commonly reported form of aliens are the Grey Aliens who were first written about in 1893 by H.G. Wells and have since been reported to be abductors of humans all over the world. Grey Aliens are basically humanoid with big black eyes, grey skin and often large heads but they usually lack a nose, ears and sex organs. These aliens are commonly said to take humans from their homes and into a space craft where they probe and experiment on the humans who are often returned to their homes with only memories of what happened.

Now there are probably a million websites out there featuring these guys so I'll suggest you start with Wikipedia and explore from there.

In my drawing I went with the basic Grey Alien who to me resembles Spider-Man without the webs. I also gave him suction cup fingers because I've seen these guys represented with them and without and it seems more alien to have them. I'm not sure why he's holding a smiley face ball in his hand except for that maybe its a gumball and he can't chew it because he has no mouth.
