A friend of mine wanted me to incorporate his band Death Church into a monster, well a Cyclops with a Death Church T-shirt (that I forgot to clean up the lines on the letters) on is all I got for now.

It's going to be really hard to do these monsters every day this year but after thinking about it for a few hours I've decided that the show must go on so here we go again 31 Monsters in 31 Days.

First up CYCLOPS GHOST! That's kind of a dumb idea and he has huge hands but hey it was a last minute thing. Tomorrow will be something better I promise. And more Candy Corn!

Thanks for looking,

I did this guy originally back in 2011 and people liked him so I figured that I'd take another shot at him and I'm kinda loving this . . . I have no idea why he is holding a Jack-O-Lantern but I'm kinda glad he is . . . I think that his thinking about throwing it.

31 Monsters in 31 Days: Monster 3 - Weirdo Cyclops

Cyclops Weirdo - Copyright ©2013 Kevin P. Johnnson
Here's another made up monster I did at Cafe Roma (again). My question is that if you have one eye then you are a cyclops and if you have three you are a triclops so with two are you just a clops?

This drawing was done in an 5.5" x 8.5" Strathmore (400 Series) 60 lb. paper sketchbook with Sakura Pigma Sensei pens, Sharpie Marker and Copic Markers.

31 Monsters in 31 Days: Day 9 - Cyclops

The Cyclops is a one eyed giant of Greek and Roman Mythology. These creatures were said to have forged the thunderbolts for Zeus and fought with him against the Titans but the story gets a bit confusing as for the origins and who the original Cyclops were. Monsterous has a quick description of the creatures but I think for the most part people think of the Cyclops as a giant one eyed brute that throws boulders at ships and has no love for humans or the gods and would eat humans for dinner.

A great example of the Cyclops appears in the movie The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad

In my drawing I made the Cyclops look kind of silly with a sort of questioning look on his face. He is a fun character and I figured he should be a bit funny in the drawing. The colors are a combination of Prismacolor Markers and Copic Markers.

The eye is on you,
